I’ve been handing out hard copies of this hand-out to strangers in places I’ve traveled to recently. It is simply an invitation for different people, from different places, and with different backgrounds. Essentially, it is for everyone: young, dying, sick, elated, loved, forgotten, innocent, criminal, etc. I ask that when you lie down to go to sleep, you write down everything you think of—innovative ideas, who you may wish was lying next to you, science fiction plots, etc. It doesn’t even need to make sense. But I want the hard copy of what you actually write on. So, write on whatever is near you and send that exact thing, whatever it may be. Smudged, wrinkled, perfect, I don’t care. I have a PO box set up in Las Vegas, Nevada just for the responses. I hope to receive them year round, which means I need a lot of participants, which is why I’m asking for this to be shared continuously. At the end of the year, once I’ve collected the responses, I am going to compile a book full of these sleepy thoughts—your sleepy thoughts. I will scan the responses making it more honest than ever. I will sort them by date and put my best effort into getting it published. (It will all be anonymous.) I hope that sharing my idea via social network will get it around fast and far. My efforts alone won’t get me very far. But with help from a web of strangers, I really do think this is possible. Please, if you are interested, not only participate, but please reblog and share it with your friends and family so they can share with theirs and so on. I can’t wait to see your beautiful words, whether numb, joyful, or tainted in that mailbox. I have very hopeful thoughts of the final product and I can’t do it without your efforts, help, and support. Thank you and happy writing.
